If you learn HTML, you can create
Web pages using little more than the text-editing program
that came with your computer, such as Notepad (Windows) or
TextEdit or SimpleText (Mac OS). That's because Web pages
are simply plain-text documents with HTML "tags" that tell
Web browsers how to display the page.HTML is not difficult.
You can learn enough to create basic Web pages within a couple
of hours. You'll find plenty of helpful beginner's books at your
local bookstore, not to mention the following free tutorials on
the Web:

After you build a few HTML documents, you'll publish them
to the Web by using a File Transfer Protocol (FTP) program
