So just what is the Web anyway?
It's the worldwide collection of Web pages and other files
that are stored on Web servers (special computers) and
displayed in Web browsers.
Viewing a Web page is
actually a four-step process:
-
You type in a Web address, or
click a link.
-
Your Web browser sends a
request to the appropriate Web server for that page.
-
The Web server sends the page
back to your browser.
-
Your browser displays the
page.
Let's take a closer look at what
this means and how all these parts work together.
